About Me
- Name: Kate Browne
- Location: Sydney Town, Australia
I am a print and digital journalist who has written for a wide range of publications including The Sun-Herald and The Sunday Telegraph. For the last six years I've worked as a senior journalist for CHOICE, focussing on consumer affairs where I've investigated issues from chemical regulation to cosmetic surgery. Of late I can be found doing TV and radio on behalf of CHOICE or in my alter ego The Guilty Mum on the ABC's show The Checkout. My last job before starting at CHOICE was a stint in the Bolivian jungle working with monkeys and walking a tantrum prone Ocelot, which was excellent training in how to wrangle my kids at the supermarket.

Including, I presume, Danish tourists?
Actually I've done some fieldwork in this area and I can safely assure you that all pastries made in Northern Europe are far superior to those made in Oz. However, in an interesting twist, in nroth Germany they actually call the more mundane, dull pastries Copenhageners, perhaps in an attempt to lessen the glory of their northern couterparts.
